You may have heard about a certain 108-wave game done long ago.

Ten iron golems will spawn on waves 55+.

Nine iron golems will spawn on wave 54.

Eight iron golems will spawn on wave 53.

Seven iron golems will spawn on wave 52.

Five iron golems will spawn on waves 45 and 50.

Four iron golems will spawn on waves 35 and 40.

Three iron golems will spawn on waves 25 and 30.

Two iron golems will spawn on waves 15 and 20.

One iron golem will spawn on waves 5 and 10.

This does not mean they will target the player with the most kills at all times, but players with more kills are more likely to be attacked directly.

Iron golems have a tendency to target the person with the most kills at any point.

This means that they would have targeted me if I was close enough to them.

Side note: I've actually had golems 'glance' at me after I shoot them with a bow from a long distance.

After a while, all iron golems remaining in the arena are guaranteed to lock on to the player with the most kills if that player is within a reasonable range.If this player cannot be found by the golems, they will either continue to target the player they were before, or they will phase back into random aggression until they die.

It is of vital importance to DPS an iron golem down as much as possible while it is locked on to a single player.

Once this variable amount of time has passed, the iron golem will stay locked on to a single player until it either falls below 5-10% health or another random block of time has passed.

The amount of time that passes during this period may last anywhere from a brief moment to several seconds, and the random nature of this time period is what makes golem behavior unpredictable.

During a random amount of time after a golem spawns, any attacks may cause the iron golem to change aggression.

Once an iron golem spawns, it will target the nearest person.

The aggression of iron golems can be rather unpredictable, but there are a few general rules that they follow. They must be killed as quickly as possible because they can wreak havoc when left alive, and they drop a lot of gold when they die. An iron golem can severely limit the mobility of a player it is directly attacking.
